Sales Account Manager (Life Protection)

As Sales Account Manager Life Protection you are responsible for sales in various countries within EMEA. You will be actively responsible to develop market and product knowledge, manage and expand accounts as well as negotiate sales deals, in line with the sales plan, to increase market share and profitability. You identify commercial opportunities in the market, based on your product know-how and commercial sense, in close cooperation with the Life Protection Platform as well as the Global Product Line Manager in Arnhem (NL). In this role you will report to the EMEA Sales Team Leader Safety in Wuppertal. Your primary work location is Wuppertal (DE). Your tasks / responsibilities 

  • Take full responsibility for sales in your territory: 
  • Translate the business strategy into a short/medium term sales plan for the assigned territory; 
  • Develop account plans using a CRM tool; 
  • Grow sales at existing accounts and enter new accounts in your territory; 
  • Recognize and interpret market and customer opportunities and investigate whether strategic alliances in the designated area are required; 
  • Manage complex tenders along international value chains; 
  • Submit quotations, negotiate and close sales deals; 
  • Up-date regularly the sales forecast in the appropriate system; 
  • Participate in business related trade shows / exhibitions / conferences; 
  • Enhance the knowledge of (new) customers about the Teijin products; 
  • Identify competitors’ activities, alternative products available in the market, important (technical) developments and upcoming trends. Share all relevant information with the organization.

Your profile

To be successful in this role, you have a Bachelor or Master degree (Commercial Economics or Technical Business Science) or equivalent. You have a proven sales track record with many years of successful sales experience in the international PPE (B2B) market for heat and flame protection, incl. tender business. 

As a person you are:

  • A self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit; 
  • A relationship builder who can adapt to different cultures; 
  • Customer focused and result oriented; 
  • Able to communicate and present in English and ideally in Spanish; 
  • Experienced to work within a (virtual) team and in an international matrix organization; 
  • Committed to strong business ethics; 
  • Willing to travel (+/-60%) within the assigned territory in EMEA.
