Research & Development
Teijin Aramid's Research and Development facilities are located in the Netherlands, Japan, and Germany, with approximately 150 employees, with around 120 of them based at the Research and Innovation Center (RIC) in Arnhem. This department supports Teijin Aramid's factories in technology improvements aimed at making the factories more efficient, stable, cost-effective, safe, and environmentally friendly.
As part of the Research & Innovation Centre (RIC), you will conduct research on aramid applications for our customers. Aramids can be used in many different applications, such as in the anchor cables of wind turbines. Our R&D scientists work closely with fellow researchers, our Marketing & Sales colleagues, our production locations, and our sustainability team.
The goals and responsibilities of R&D include delivering, maintaining, and expanding knowledge in the following areas:
- Product and process optimization
- Product and process development
- Support for production locations
- Support for the marketing and sales departments
- Production of samples for marketing purposes
"Part of my work as a researcher at RIC is contributing to the culture of innovation within our organization. This is important because we want to remain relevant to society. We can determine now where we want to be in ten years; sustainability is an important part of that. That's exactly where my personal ambition lies"
Bo Cornelissen, R&D Scientist
