Mechanical Engineering Supervisor (interim)
We are looking for an experienced Interim Mechanical Supervisor (WTB) who will be responsible for supervising and coordinating stops/projects and large-scale maintenance. In this role, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality, safety and progress of these projects.
- Provides technical supervision of his assigned field work.
- Answers any professional technical questions from the contractor and/or engages internal expertise as soon as possible so that work does not stagnate.
- Indicates where any hold/white spots are and checks for them.
- Checks disassembled parts and contacts stop team in case of discrepancies.
- Oversees the safety/quality/progress of the work performed and immediately reports deviations to the technical coordinator and/or inspection.
- Supervises the use of the correct materials and randomly checks that the correct tools are used. - Coordinates work between field disciplines as needed.
- Reports deviations/additions from the TOS back to the stop team.
- Performs punch work together with the contractor (pre punch) and consults the outcome with the coordinator.
- Ensures that during and after the work the workplace is neat and tidy (good housekeeping).

Role and department
In 2025, we will carry out the largest plant shutdown in Teijin Delfzijl's history.
We have now been in the preparation phase for two years and want to further strengthen the project team to have everything prepared and organized early on.
During this stop, more than 1,000 people will be working to maintain, inspect and modify our plant. What a project.
Your profile
With your hands-on mentality and problem-solving skills, you always know how to keep the overview and guarantee quality. Your communication skills enable you to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Furthermore, you have;
- A completed relevant technical education at MBO 4 level.
- WTB knowledge in (process) engineering and static or rotating WTB knowledge
- Experience in stops/projects or large-scale maintenance.
- All-round knowledge of the operation of technical installations and their technical implementation.
- Experience in reading technical documentation in German and English and reading drawings.
- Start date of temporary assignment starts in September or October 2024
