Role and department

In Delfzijl, approximately 250 employees work together every day on the production of the raw material for our successful product Twaron®. The monomers PPD and TDC are produced here. These monomers are then combined in a closed process to create a unique aramid polymer (Polyparaphenylene terephthalamide). We recover solvents for reuse in a separate factory. After drying, the polymer is packaged and transported to the Teijin Aramid production site in Emmen, where it is spun into Twaron®. The Technology & Engineering department supports the production process, assesses QHSE risks and carries out projects in the areas of safety, environment, stability, process optimization and cost efficiency.

Within your role as a short-term process engineer you provide direct plant support, which means resolving disruptions and optimizing production processes. As a knowledge carrier of the factory or part of the factory, you are the point of contact for questions about the production process and the applied technologies, and you proactively come up with proposals for research programs.

You work together with other disciplines such as production, technical service, R&D and QHSE in a challenging and dynamic environment where almost all unit operations that are common in process technology are present, from reaction and distillation to filtration, evaporation and extraction. In this versatile role you will build up experience across the entire playing field of chemical technology. In addition, you make an active contribution to our KENZEN improvement program to achieve a LEAN organization.

Your profile

To be considered for this challenging position:

  • You have a completed HBO or academic education in chemical technology.
  • You would like to develop within the chemical industry.
  • Process technology is your passion, and you enjoy working on challenging projects in a dynamic working environment.
  • You are able to make informed decisions quickly.
  • You like to use your knowledge and experience to optimize the safety, stability and cost-efficiency of processes.
  • You have persuasive power and enjoy working intensively with different disciplines.
  • You are results-oriented and steadfast and like to take the initiative.

Our offer

  • A salary of up to a maximum of €5,975 gross per month based on full-time employment (excl. Holiday pay 8.33%). Classification takes place on the basis of knowledge and experience.
  • Working in the most complex chemical factory in the Netherlands and therefore an extra challenge.
  • A green and development budget of €1,500 gross each.
  • Full-time job with 46 vacation days.
