Piping Engineer

- Design and layout piping systems to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
- Conduct detailed analyses and calculations to determine piping requirements, including sizing, material selection, and stress analysis.
- Collaborate with project teams to develop piping specifications according to AKZO standards.
- Oversee the procurement of piping materials and equipment.
- Supervise the installation, testing, and commissioning of piping systems.
- Conduct inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Provide technical support and expertise in troubleshooting piping-related issues. Most projects involve modifications and expansions of existing installations. Brownfield engineering is central to all projects.

Role and department
You will be working at our location in Delfzijl. You will collaborate with colleagues in various project teams, as well as work together to maintain the quality of the piping systems.
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced piping engineer to strengthen our team at Teijin Aramid Delfzijl. As a Piping Engineer, you will play a key role in the design, installation, and maintenance of piping systems for our chemical plant. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in piping engineering and a passion for working in the chemical industry.
Your profile
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
- Demonstrable experience in piping engineering, preferably in the chemical or petrochemical industry.
- Proficiency in piping design software such as AutoCAD, Plant 3D, or equivalent (our installation emphasizes EN 13480, PED, and EN 13445).
- Good understanding of piping codes and standards (e.g., ASME, ASTM, ANSI).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills in Dutch, both written and verbal. An initial experience with project management is a plus.
