Compensation & Benefits

Teijin Aramid offers a competitive package of compensation and benefits, formalized in Teijin Aramid’s collective labor agreements. The majority of our employees work in shifts (5-ploegendienst). This group is compensated along CAO1. Our daytime employees are remunerated along CAO1 or CAO2, based on their respective job level. According to the latest AWVN (Algemene Werkgeversvereniging Nederland) benchmark on compensation & benefits pay levels, Teijin Aramid is among the top 25% in the Netherlands. The same goes for our benefits package. Total compensation & benefits package value (gross salary, flexible pay, working hours, pension schemes and life-course savings scheme) is 15-20% above average. 

  •  Distinctive gross salary levels along our own collective labor agreements. All employees are eligible for a vacation allowance (8% of annual gross salary) and a profit distribution based on the company’s performance (max. 10% of annual gross salary). Besides, Teijin Aramid offers all employees a maximum allowance of 2.5% of the annual gross salary to be used for the life-course savings scheme. Employees can also opt for the allowance to be added to their monthly salary. Shift work employees earn allowances (i.e. irregularity allowance and compensation allowances) totalling up to 30% of annual gross salary.
  • Teijin Aramid offers an appealing package for vacation and short leaves of absence. In our view, creating a decent balance between working hours and leisure time is vital. On top of an annual vacation allowance of 184-200 hours, daytime employees are offered an annual allowance of 184 hours for short leaves of absence (furlough). Flexible usage of the184 hours allows employees to exchange these for short leaves of absence, extra salary or a 36-hour (working) week. A maximized 32-hour bonus is available when permanently scheduling the 184 hours for a 36-hour week. Shift work employees are offered an annual holiday allowance of 184 hours. They do not receive hours for short leaves of absence. As compensation, shift work employees work a 33.6-hour working week.

It is our aim to invest in our employees, and at the same time we encourage our employees to invest in themselves. We offer a 100% compensation package for most educational costs. This policy is applicable to both career-relevant and non-relevant training and education. Study time is fully compensated for necessary training and education. Half of the study time is compensated in cases of career-relevant training.
  • We offer a flexible package of interchangeable compensation and benefits components. Employees are free to take part in our employee savings scheme (spaarloonregeling), or life-course savings scheme (levensloopregeling). Teijin Aramid offers an attractive allowance for compensating travel costs. We administer our own pension fund, in which the employee pays a premium of 3% and Teijin Aramid pays the remainder (24%).
