The focus of Teijin Aramid’s R&D is on creating innovative applications that meet a real market need and therefore offer genuine long-term growth opportunities. This requires both breadth and depth of knowledge across the business lines and, just as important, a culture of open innovation within the company that enables the cross-fertilization of ideas and research advances.
Our latest product, Sulfron, is the result of our ability to integrate expertise across areas: rubber technology, its application in tires, aramid’s functionality in rubber and the needs of the market.
This last is the driving force behind all our R&D. We listen to our customers and we monitor major market trends.
R&D is the heart of the Teijin Aramid organization and has a strong technological and financial position. 5 % of Teijin Aramid's turnover is invested in R&D. This is why Teijin Aramid Research Institute is known as one of the top 15 R&D centers of Holland.
